I think we can all agree that 2020 was a raging jerk. I have never been as stressed, sleep deprived, anxious, time poor and overworked as I have this year. Probably a solid guess to say it’s been like that for just about everyone.⁠

When March rolled around and the world stopped I thought it was the end of the line for Inkling. It felt like suddenly there was no space in people’s lives for frivolous art and the things made from it. There were much, MUCH bigger problems that we were all facing now and a cute pouch to carry stuff in really didn’t rank in the list of things that were vital.⁠

Every time I released new canvases and bags I thought to myself, “enjoy it, for sure THIS is the last time you’ll be doing this”. And every time you guys showed up. You bought Inkling, you shared it with your friends, and the shop I’d spent a month filling back up was empty again.⁠

By the time November rolled around I was no longer crying about what the future would hold, instead I was crying from the sheer exhaustion of trying to keep up with how busy I’d gotten. 😬😂⁠
.⁠
And it wasn’t just me, you guys showed up for all of the tiny, maker, indie businesses. You proved once again that art, design, the things we surround ourselves with matter. They change the way we feel, they improve our mood, and during this year especially, they were little things brought us joy.⁠

So yeah, 2020 was a friggin dumpster fire but I’m ending the year thankful and full of gratitude. THANK YOU for your support, for the DMs, for choosing Inkling to be the way you brightened your day when you were also juggling a million new expectations and changes to your world.⁠

Here’s hoping 2021 is the start of us finding our way out of *gestures broadly* this. 🥂⁠
